Electronics and EC Engineering Faculty

The academic degree programs and the research activities of Dept. of E & ECE are largely supported by the E & ECE faculty-members. In addition, G. S. Sanyal School of Telecommunication and Dept. of E & ECE closely support each other for carrying out their academic curricula and collaborative research activities in the field of Telecommunication Systems Engineering. The Dept. of E & ECE roster currently includes 38 faculty-members. Dept. of E & ECE is currently headed by Professor Swapna Banerjee.

Apart from the E & ECE departmental responsibilities, E & ECE faculty members are heading various academic and research centres at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur:

Professor P. K. Biswas is heading Computer and Informatics Centre (CIC), IIT Kharagpur.
Professor D. Biswas is heading Science and Technology Entrepreneurs' Park (STEP), IIT Kharagpur.
Professor S. Sengupta is serving as the Dean, Continuing Education Centre, IIT Kharagpur.
Professor Swapna Banerjee is serving as the Professor-in-charge of Special Manpower Development Programme (SMDP) in VLSI at IIT Kharagpur.
Dr. R. Datta is serving as the Professor-in-charge of Technology Telecom Centre, IIT Kharagpur.
Dr. T. K. Bhattacharya is heading Advanced VLSI Consortium, IIT Kharagpur.
Dr. R. Datta is serving as the Secretary of IEEE Kharagpur Section, IIT Kharagpur.
